That depends on what the goal is, doesn’t it? If the goal were to prop up non-viable businesses and slow economic growth… TARP and the “stimulus” could be considered efficiently accomplished.

I’ve been to Shreveport and Bossier many times. My Mom grew up in Ruston, and my beloved aunt owned Pat Goins Beauty Schools – main office in Bossier – until her death in 2006, and I’ve cousins who still live in the area. Best luck.
The government works well. You could not fly anywhere without it – despite Reagan. There would be no roads, just the one you could walk over before Captain Shreve. There would be no Hoover Dam, hence no Lake Mead, hence no Las Vegas. Need I say more?
