Little sister, you sweet thing you - the only reason you thought you couldn't agree with me the 7 years is because all you heard was that I supported the war. It was frustrating for me not be "heard".

There's no sense arguing now whether the war was right or wrong in the beginning, it's do we leave the Kurds and millions of other Iraqis who have (for the second time begun to trust us) hanging out to dry again? Do we allow Al Qaeda to take over NOW?

Anyway, that can be argued, discussed, debated, whatever some other time.

We are definitely on the same page where Huckabee is concerned. I wish he'd show some common sense and grace and bow out now, too. Besides that would give Hillary and Obama a real target, instead of having to attack through a proxy lame duck.

I'll go along with you on available treatment, but not so much on preventative care because I fear that would extend to "lifestyle" changes mandated by government and I fear that. My god, they might ration butter, ban double cream and certain cheeses... and pizza. And Sonic hamburgers.

I graciously accept the compliment about my cooking, but you, dear, are the biscuit queen.

RDB (aka smartass) - how is not amnesty and then tightening the border not a proposal? No details, yes... but I think those could be worked out.

I agree I didn't state how medical costs could be controlled, but that might be 'nuther whole post. As it is now, it looks like we'll change the policy of insurance companies telling someone that can't have that expensive operation to the government telling them they can't. At least with private insurance doing it, charity hospitals still exist - single payer insurance and they're out of business, IMHO.

I'll have to give some thought to a Chelsea/Jenna ticket ;-)

I never, ever, in my entire life (or at least certainly not during the past 7 years) thought I'd be agreeing with my sister on a political subject, but I gotta go with at least parts of the above. The Huckabee, Hillary, & immigration parts.

Other parts, not so much. The war part, definitely not. I have been against it from well before the start, and continue to be against it. Not against the troops, mind you. Against the war. And for many, many reasons. It's not something I will debate. I may discuss, but I will not debate. To me, a debate is something done for entertainment; so-called "lively debates" mean nothing, and are little more than a game. This is far too important for that.

Which leads me to why I agree with you on Hillary, but not, I am sure, for the same reason. Her support for the war is the main reason why I will not support her.

As to why I agree with you on Huckabee, it's because I believe firmly that religion has no place whatsoever in government. No religion. None. Whatsoever. My beliefs are private to me, and everyone else's beliefs should be private to them. Mine shouldn't be forced on them, and theirs shouldn't be forced on me - and certainly not by government dictate. Huckabee would have it otherwise, I suspect.

Regarding your opinion on medical treatment, I agree with you that medicine cannot cure everything or even diagnose in time, but I also believe that access to money (whether their own or some insurance company's) shouldn't be the factor that decides whether or not someone gets available treatment and preventative care.

So I don't know how different that makes us. Probably not so much. Besides, you're a decent cook.

And you're my sister and I love you. That also goes for the smartass who left the first comment. Well, except for the sister part. Obviously.

You really are warped if you think a Romney is better than Chealsa (where is spelchck when you need it?). I'm not
even sure that his dad George was better than Nixon in 1968. Well, okay, I'm pretty sure he was better.
On immigration and healthcare, your positions are factual, but are devoid of propositions.
You are not different, since you agree, like me, with your own self.
You are just strange in your contempt for Hilary. The thing I could not stand for 4-8 years is that she says "you
know" about 4 times per sentence - like a really good linebacker.
